Four & Eight Grid Sampler

The Four & Eight Grid Sampler is based on blocks from Judy Hopkin's 501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks, but have been super-sized to 16-inch finished blocks. With sashing and border, the quilt finishes at 68" x 68". All fabrics in this quilt are from Denyse Schmidt's Shelburne Falls collection.

Each block uses two to three different prints, in addition to a light/background fabric. If you want to make the entire quilt, here is the yardage requirements:

Blocks:
18-20 fat quarters
Light/background fabric: 2.25 yards

Sashing:
1 yard main fabric, plus .25 yard for cornerstones

Border: 1.25 yards for the border
Backing: 4.5 yards
Binding: 5/8 yard
